Who is Tatlock Woods Publishing Inc.?
Tatlock Woods Publishing Inc. is a joint venture between the authors, Ed Lawrence and Liane Benoit, for the purpose of writing, publishing and distributing "Gardening Grief and Glory". A portion of the related tasks are being carried out under license by Liane's company, Benoit & Associates. In addition to distribution through book stores, the self-publishing option allows us to offer the book on-line through Ed's web site as well as through a toll free number. It also provides the financial flexibility necessary to allow us to direct a portion of the proceeds from this book to support selected charities and horticultural events.
Can you describe the book?
The book is a perfect bound, laminated soft cover edition measuring 6 x 9 x ¾ inches and comprising 328 pages in total. It is written in a question-and-answer format based on the many hundreds of questions that Ed has been asked over the years in his role as gardening expert on CBC's radio gardening phone-in show. Approximately 60 pen and ink drawings by nature artist Aleta Karstad illustrate the chapters, which follow the year month by month from January through to December. The book is intended as a practical guide to all aspects of gardening and reflects Ed's down-to earth, environmentally sensitive approach to solving the most common indoor and outdoor gardening issues.
How long will it take before my order will be shipped?
Our fulfillment center, the LMGroup in Ottawa, has assured us that the books will be shipped within 24 hours of your order being taken. Delivery times depend on where you live and the delivery option you have chosen. See "Shipping and Handling" for details.
Why do I need to give my phone number and e-mail address?
These are used for administrative purposes only. The e-mail address allows us to send you a confirmation of your order. Once your order has been filled at the warehouse, another e-mail will be sent advising you that your package has been shipped and indicating the tracking number and web site address that will allow you to follow its progress. In the case of toll free phone orders where no e-mail address is available, the phone number will be used to contact you only in the event there is a problem with your order. For further details regarding the security of your personal information, please click on "Privacy" at the bottom of any page of the web site.
Why is it more costly to ship one book?
One book is the least efficient number to process and deliver - think of the cost of making a special trip to your garden centre for each of ten items rather than buying all ten in one trip. The same principle applies with Canada Post, courier and handling rates - the more items you send in one shipment the more economical it is. All the shipping and handling rates we offer you are subsidized - we pick up a portion of the cost - but we do encourage you to take advantage of our shipping specials on larger orders (it's more environmentally friendly too!) These special rates significantly reduce your handling and shipping costs per book. Order two books or more and your total shipping and handling fee is just one dollar more than the cost of delivery on a single book!
Is my credit card and personal information secure?
Yes! Your privacy and security are very important to us. We have researched and acquired the most effective internet encryption and security services. The yellow lock at the bottom of your screen on the "Payment" page is your assurance that your credit card information is protected. None of your credit card details are retained by any party other than the TDBank Merchant Service that authorizes the transaction and issues the approval. Your credit card information disappears completely from the payment page once that information is submitted for approval. In the case of toll free call orders, all associates taking the calls are bonded and like other sales representatives, do not record any of your credit card information once the transaction has been processed. All other personal information that you offer in support of your purchase, such as your name, address and e-mail, are listed on a secure database for administrative purposes only and will not be sold or shared with any third party. Please click on "Security" at the bottom of any web page for more details regarding the security of this site.
Can I return the book?
Any damaged or imperfect books can be returned and a replacement will be sent out to you as quickly as possible. Please contact customer service by e-mail at CustomerService@gardeningwithed.com, by phone at 819-459-1888, or by mail at Tatlock Woods Publishing Inc., P.O. Box 146, Wakefield, Q.C. J0X 3G0. This being a self-publishing venture by the authors, our capacity to deal with discretionary returns is limited, however every attempt will be made to accommodate return requests and ensure your complete satisfaction.
